Make Money on Videos

You can make money on your home-made videos by uploading them to video sharing web sites that operate a revenue sharing program. Depending on your videos’ popularity you can make $1 to $100,000 or more.

Revver.com – Revver operates a system whereby you can upload any video and have advertising added. These appear as a banner ad throughout the video, and/or as an advertisement at the beginning and end of each video. You will get a share of the advertising revenue generated by viewers clicking on the ads.

Viddler.com – Viddler operates a similar system to Revver and allows your own web site address to be included in the video, although will not allow product specific videos unless you open a business account. This is a good site for affiliate marketing, and carries a wider range of subjects which will appeal to more viewers.

YouTube.com – YouTube is for the more established video producer and requires joining their partner program which has strict qualifications. As the second largest web search tool in the world, the possibility of lucrative earnings through YouTube is colossal, but you have to be very proficient in what you do.

Similar Schemes for Making Money on Online Videos

Blip.tv – Blip.tv concentrates more on episodic web shows. If you wish to benefit from their advertising program, you must already have an idea for a show which will ultimately be of high quality and on a popular subject, as Blip.tv syndicates quite widely. If you are of this standard, expect to be generating revenue of around $1.500 per month, although their top video producers earn in excess of $100.000.

Break.com – Break operates a video hosting service similar to You Tube, Viddler and Revver, but is selective in what they will pay for. Your video has to be selected as a “Featured Video” and appear as such on their home page. They will pay $400 for each video you produce that matches these criteria.

Atom.com – Previously known as atomfilms.com, this company allows you to upload as many videos as you want, and those which are considered best are elevated to “pro-status”. Pro-status videos are paid $8 per 1.000 viewings, and although this may seem a fairly small amount, some videos have been viewed over 12 million times – generating over $100.000 income for their producers.

Current.com – Current.com is a mainstream comedy channel which produces its own shows, but invites video producers to create the advertising for them and offers cash rewards for those which are selected for use. They occasionally have large international companies offering large cash incentives if the adverts are picked up by the company and used as part of their advertising campaign. Currently they offer $2.500 for an accepted advertisement and two recent campaigns for HP and Lexus saw rewards of $60.000 on offer. Please see their website for more information.

Current.com also hosts the “Rotten Tomatoes Show”. Rottentomatoes.com is one of the web’s leading film and DVD review sites and viewers are invited to submit their own video reviews of current releases to be aired on the show. For each review that is selected to be shown, Rotten Tomatoes pay $100.
